guide to securely working remote
This guide provides some useful details on staying secure while working remote. Although it is not always possible to follow this guide perfectly, the closer you get, the less likely there is an incident.
Avoid Unknown networks
(including wifi)
Wireless networks are much more susceptible to attack versus a hardwire, however you should always be careful of unknown networks. This especially applies when travelling to foreign countries.
Keep local copies of data secure
This applies to anything on USB drives (or similar) and printed files. While less of a risk at home, this can be very dangerous when travelling or working in a shared space.
Update your home router/firewall
If you purchased your own router/firewall, make sure it is regularly getting updates installed. New vulnerabilities come out regularly, and your device is a highly valued target for hackers.
