WHEN AN ASSESSMENT MAKES SENSE
Your Firm Shouldn’t Have to Guess Where It Stands
Get a clear view of what is working, what is missing, and what deserves attention first.
You’re Unsure What Your IT Provider Is Actually Doing
You receive reports and invoices, but you do not have a clear understanding of the protections in place or whether they are configured correctly.
A Client Sent You a Security Questionnaire
You need to confirm that your controls, policies, and documentation can support the answers your firm is providing.
Your Cyber Insurance Requirements Are Changing
Your firm needs to address gaps that could affect coverage, pricing, or insurability before renewal.
You Want an Independent Second Opinion
You want an objective evaluation from someone who understands law firms and is not trying to replace your current provider.
Your Firm Has Recently Grown or Changed
New employees, offices, software, vendors, or remote-work practices may have introduced risks that have never been formally reviewed.
WHAT WE EVALUATE
A Practical Review of the Controls Protecting Your Firm
We look beyond whether a security tool has been purchased. The assessment examines how your safeguards are configured, documented, managed, and supported by the people and vendors responsible for them.
Identity and Access
Multi-factor authentication, user permissions, privileged accounts, password practices, and onboarding and offboarding controls.
Devices, Network, and Infrastructure
Endpoint protection, patching, firewalls, servers, remote access, unsupported systems, and the visibility your firm has across its environment.
Email, Cloud, and Data Protection
Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace settings, email safeguards, file sharing, data access, encryption, and protection for the systems holding client information.
Policies, Training, and Governance
Your written security policies, employee training, acceptable-use practices, ownership of security decisions, and whether procedures match what happens in practice.
Backups and Incident Readiness
Backup coverage and recovery planning, incident-response procedures, escalation paths, cyber-insurance coordination, and your ability to continue operating after an event.
WHAT YOUR FIRM RECEIVES
Clear Findings. Practical Next Steps.
The assessment ends with more than a list of problems. Your leadership team receives a clear view of the firm’s risk, the evidence behind each finding, and a roadmap for addressing the work in the right order.
Executive Risk Summary
A leadership-level overview of the firm’s current security posture, major exposures, and the decisions requiring attention.
Detailed Findings
Documented strengths, gaps, and supporting observations across the controls and practices included in the assessment.
Prioritized Roadmap
Recommendations are organized by urgency, effort, and business impact so your firm knows what to address first and what can wait.
Leadership Readout
A working session with firm leadership to review the results, answer questions, and align on realistic next steps.
The goal: Give your firm a roadmap it can use with its current IT provider, internal team, or another qualified partner.

WHY CLEAR GUIDANCE PARTNERS
Security Guidance Built Around How Law Firms Actually Operate
Your firm does not need a generic technical report that leadership cannot use. We connect cybersecurity findings to client obligations, insurance requirements, firm operations, and the realities of practicing law.
Preferred cybersecurity provider

Built for Law Firms
Our recommendations account for legal applications, client confidentiality, outside counsel requirements, professional obligations, and the way attorneys and staff work.
Vendor-Agnostic Recommendations
We evaluate the firm’s needs and evidence first. Recommendations are not shaped by referral fees.
Technical Depth Without the Jargon
Our cybersecurity team examines the technical details, then translates the findings into clear business decisions for firm leadership.
Security and Insurance Perspective
We understand how technical controls, written policies, incident readiness, cyber-insurance applications, and coverage expectations connect. We work alongside our sister company, Beltex Insurance, when firms want coverage guidance.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What Firms Usually Want to Know
If your firm’s environment or goals fall outside these answers, we can clarify the right scope during an initial conversation.
-
No. The assessment can provide an independent second opinion while your current provider remains in place. We may work with them to gather documentation and validate controls, but the resulting roadmap belongs to your firm.
-
Usually, yes, at least to a limited extent. They may hold the reports, configurations, policies, and system information needed to evaluate the environment accurately. We keep requests focused and coordinate them through the firm.
-
Disruption should be limited. Most of the work involves document review, technical evidence, and conversations with a small group of firm and IT contacts. We plan discovery around the firm’s schedule.
-
No. A penetration test attempts to exploit technical weaknesses and requires a separate scope. This assessment evaluates the controls, configurations, policies, vendors, and readiness measures protecting the firm.
-
Most assessments take 6–8 weeks. However, the schedule depends on the firm’s size, number of systems and vendors, responsiveness during discovery, and the depth of the agreed scope.
-
Assessments are priced as a fixed fee. The price depends on the size of your firm and the scope you choose, and you will know the full cost before any work begins.
-
Your firm decides how to proceed. The roadmap can guide your existing IT provider, internal team, or another qualified partner. If requested, Clear Guidance Partners can separately discuss support for approved remediation work.
